The Lotus Club

One source recently estimated that a half million individuals, age 65 and younger are currently living with a memory disorder.

If you have recently been diagnosed wih early-onset Alzheimer’s or a related disorder, you are not alone! There is a place just for you; a club that our current members say they certainly didn’t expect to join, but are grateful to have.

Club members enjoy the companionship of similarly situated peers, as well as a variety of recreational activities, community service opportunities, and therapeutic care. Lotus Club members participate in a variety of programs, offered in a club-like setting where the goals are to cultivate lasting friendships, engage in their own personal growth, and avoid the social isolation that all too often accompanies an early diagnosis.

The Lotus Club meets Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 am - 3 pm.

Peace of Mind Program: Comprehensive Memory Care: Park Slope Geriatric Day Center and Senior Helpers, a home health care agency, are working together to offer a “Peace of Mind” package for families that combines days at PSDGC with in-home care during other hours. The different packages vary the number of day-care days and home care hours to best meet a family’s needs, and the package plans come at a set rate so that families can more easily budget based on their finances.
